Based in safari-style tented camps, Camp Wilderness run school holiday 3 day and 5 day residential camps at our woodland estates around the country. Immersed in the natural world during last year’s pandemic, we were able to allow children to unplug from technology and learn how to live in the wild. With activities including lighting campfires, building shelters, archery, wilderness first aid and outdoor cookery, these outdoor adventure camps have not only kept children entertained, but also taught them lifelong skills.
In 2020, we were excited to announce a new collaboration between Camp Wilderness and the inspirational explorer and adventurer, Ed Stafford. Drawing on his own incredible experiences and expertise, Ed brought new initiatives and challenges to Camp Wilderness that our campers just loved! Exploring some of Ed’s ideas behind the psychology of survival, Camp Wilderness provided the perfect environment to test out new skills and discover solutions without relying on technology. An antidote to today’s world, opening children’s minds to the benefits of being outdoors and helping them to find new ways of looking at the world.
For this year, by adapting our camps to become day-stays, we were able to offer some great experiences just when they were needed the most, and as one parent said…
“Thank you for providing an excellent camp, in these uncertain times. I think it was just right, in so many respects. The staff were wonderful, and they went above and beyond to put the children and parents at ease. Thank you so much for all of your efforts. Well done!!”
